Can you learn to play a Sax without a teacher?

I don’t know if I can get a teacher where I live, and I’m unsure about paying one. I’d much rather learn myself. Is this possible?
Response to "The fact that you are "unsure about paying one" seems to indicate that you are not really committed to learning an instrument. "

1) It is that money is something I don’t have to freely give away. And,
2) If I learn myself? And I become very good? I’d love to be able to say that it was because of my own hard work and determination, rather than the aid of an expert.
In response to "What kind are you playing? alto? "

Tenor.

How to learn to play the saxophone in less than 5 minutes…

We got Logan his saxophone this week for 5th grade band. We took it up to grandpa Weatherford’s so he could check it out for him. I knew it was in good shape, but I wanted him to check it out since he plays the sax. He confirmed with us that it is a very nice instrument, in good shape, and that it would make him a very nice instrument. He showed him a couple little tips, but not so much that it would cause any trouble for him when he starts taking lessons in a couple of weeks. Band instructors can be kind of touchy about that, you know. He did a real nice job, and dad looked proud too. We had a nice time.

How long will it take to learn to play an alto sax?

I already played a trumpet for a year and i can now hit high Gs pretty well (the one right above the staff)
I am planning to practice atleast 45 mins a day
In two months (when school starts), how well do you think i will be able to play?
i already have strong lips (because of the trumpet), good breath support, and am determined to learn the sax
