Induction of The Ventures

From Seattle, The Ventures defined instrumental guitar rock in the 1960s. Their hits bookended the decade, from 1960s Walk Dont Run to 1969s Hawaii Five-O. Nokie Edwards twang-guitar and the crisp rhythm of Don Wilson, bassist Bob Bogle and drummer Mel Taylor gave every Ventures album their trademark bent note sound. Long admired by other bands like the Beatles (and especially George Harrison), Stephen Stills, Joe Walsh, Aerosmith, and others, the Ventures hit the Billboard chart nearly three dozen times in the 1960s. The transparent stereo mixes enabled guitarists to isolate and learn every riff, an idea that fueled 1965s essential instruction LP Play Guitar With the Ventures. Founders of surf rock, the Ventures inspired a classic line of Mosrite guitars and have maintained a flourishing touring and recording career for decades, especially in Europe and Japan. www.DrumsTheWord.com This is part 6 of a series of beginner videos in which I demonstrate for you the first few drum beats every drummer learns when they start out as a beginner. This beat uses quarter notes on the Hi-Hat. It’s a really simple, easy and fun drum groove to learn and will start you on your way to greater things! This clip is taken from a video series I intend to complete some time in the near future. I couldn’t resist sharing it with you right now though as I think it will be really useful for a lot of drummrs just starting out now. What visual material can you suggest to me to help me learn to play the violin?

I don’t want formal lessons, but from what I can tell it is unlikely (or just really really bad) to try and grope around trying to teach my self… So I guess I want an in-between option, semi-formal one might say. Basically what are the best instructional videos for learning the violin.
